Refer a Friend online bingo promotions

Online bingo is such a fun pasttime these days you should get all your friends involved and enjoy the great community spirit while you chat and gossip online and play exciting bingo games.

Many online bingo sites give you extra bonuses or special offers when you refer your friends, which makes it great for both you and your friend, as you can both cash in on the event.

Referral programs for bingo sites tend to vary from site to site, but as a general guideline, you should only refer your friends to sites that you are already familiar with, and that you know and trust.

It won’t take long to find some good RAF offers (RAF is short for Refer A Friend). Wink Bingo have a nice promo where you can buy your friend a special gift voucher as a warm welcome to the site, and Wink Bingo actually doubles the value of the voucher - a nice touch methinks!

Another good site is Sun Bingo, also with a cool referral program, once you’ve signed up your friend you’ll receive £10 and so will your friend!

So take some time and check out your fave online bingo sites, the ones where you enjoy playing bingo online most, and see what kind of a referral program they offer. It’s definitely a great way to earn some extra cash, along with introducing your friends to an excellent new hobby! Enjoy!

Online Payment Methods

It’s an interesting idea – the sort of idea you wonder why nobody thought of it before.

I’m referring to the Casino City directory that gives us all a pretty comprehensive rundown on most of the major online payment systems out there. Whether you’re an online bingo player or an operator of online bingo games, this is one directory it might pay to visit.

Why – because it may just help you understand what’s at stake in doing business with or as an online bingo hall in this post-UIGEA world.

For those of you not up to speed with what ‘UIGEA’ is, it stands for the US law called the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. It’s a piece of US legislation aimed at disrupting US players’ right to gamble with who they want – and has effectively shut the international online bingo industry out of the US market. UIGEA targets the payment methods used by players to play online bingo.

Getting around UIGEA, or simply just trying to understand how online payments operate in this environment is essential for all wanting to get involved in playing or operating bingo online. May I recommend you visit the directory by going here: http://online.casinocity.com/payment-methods/

Bingo Halls Get Zero Support

Exactly what great crime is it that our faithful old bingo halls in the UK have committed to deserve such unfair treatment by the government?

With Bingo Halls dropping like flies all over the UK, forced to closure because of Big Brother government moves to apply double taxes, take away their high jackpot slot machines, and to add insult to injury, apply a smoking ban to the whole of the UK. All these measures plus the general recession has forced our traditional bingo clubs to their knees, begging for a fair chance.

The 2009 Budget revealed yesterday by the Chancellor at first seemed to be heaven-sent for Bingo Halls, when they realised that VAT was going to be dropped for Bingo. Unfortunately the Bingo gaming tax increased at the same time from 15% up to 22%, basically meaning no change.

On the other hand, the online bingo business in the UK is positively booming. Perhaps leaping off the back of the apparently doomed land-based bingo industry, and bringing the game of bingo back into the limelight, with an increasingly younger generation of bingo fans, and tons of appealing free bingo games to get your teeth into.

So what does the future hold for our grand old Bingo halls? With all the pressure from our leading UK operators including Rank and Gala Bingo, you’d expect some backing from the government, but there appears to be none. Looks like the cards are on the table, and the Bingo Halls will have to battle it out for themselves.

Posh Bingo

Posh Bingo has burst back into the online bingo UK scene in a swish of glamour and glitz fit for the Queen herself. This faithful old bingo site has totally reinvented itself with a thrilling new look and a brand new selection of exciting bingo games and promotions I love!

Their new design is very cute, I love it!

Comedian Jokes

For a change I’m not going to write about online bingo today, the subject is jokes, but not bingo jokes, comedian jokes. The Edinburgh Fringe festival has been giving out awards for funniest gags, and the newly crowned winner is Zoe Lyons – well done girl!

This is the one-liner she jumped over the winning post with, on the subject of the misunderstood but talented singer Amy Winehouse:

“I can’t believe Amy Winehouse self-harms. She’s so irritating she must be able to find someone to do it for her.”

In the tasteless ratings this joke scores pretty highly, but humour is like art, and as Picasso once said famously, “The world today doesn’t make sense, so why should I paint pictures that do?”

33 year-old Zoe from Brighton said she was delighted to have won the award.

“I know self-harming is not funny but it’s just a joke, so I’m not going to beat myself up about it.”

Andrew Laurence came in second with his witty one liner: “Most of us have a skeleton in the cupboard. David Beckham takes his out in public.”

I’ve always appreciated a good joke, it’s something I can’t get by without, like a nice cuppa while I bingo. I wish there were more bingo themed jokes around as I love anything to do with bingo, however we have a few rib-ticklers submitted by our very own Bingostreeters in our Bingo Forum – pop over now for a quick giggle!

Online or land-based bingo?

While the news all last week tended to highlight the growing Scandinavian online bingo market, back here in the UK evidence mounted of more troubles in the land-based bingo industry with the announcement that Gala Bingo has put up its Nuneaton bingo hall for sale.

Land-based bingo has been in a bit of a bind recently with its profitability impaired by a new nationwide smoking ban, a controversial double tax system and the growing popularity of online bingo games and online bingo halls.

Gala Bingo is already a mainstay on the online bingo scene and it makes sense for them to maximize their land-based operations rather than run at a loss by keeping non-profitable halls afloat. On the other hand, I doubt they will receive many offers from any industry for the building they have put up for sale due to the need to spend extra money on asbestos removal from the property.

What this move by Gala does tell us is that land-based bingo is an increasingly negative option for bingo operators in a world where changing habits are reflecting a move towards a more online-based lifestyle when it comes to entertainment choices. I can see the day when outfits like Gala focus almost exclusively on people who play online bingo and exit the land-based scene completely.

BingoStreet Free Keno

I for one am glad to see that Bingostreet is branching out into the world of online keno games, as it’s one of those games now freely available online and in the same family as bingo and lotto.

If you’ve never sat down and played a keno game, then now’s an ideal time to start. With the Bingostreet Free Keno game ready for action at anytime, you just need a few seconds to create your account and then you’re off.

As with online bingo, the game of keno is all about the balls. No balls? No keno! You get to pick your choice of numbers from the board, place your bet and then wait for the balls to pop in. The more balls you predict correctly, the more you win. Simple, and great fun too!

Game Village

I’ve only very recently heard about the new Game Village bingo site - it’s one of the newest bingo sites on the online bingo UK scene at the moment, and it’s making huge waves!

One of the few bingo sites around that uses its very own bingo software, it presents bingo fans with a complete virtual village community, which makes it an extremely rewarding and exciting place to play bingo online.

Game Village currently has 5 bingo rooms to choose from, and not only the regular 75 and 90 ball bingo games, but extra variations of the game including the extremely exciting Elimination Bingo game. You’ll also find some totally addictive extra games at this bingo site, including Dingo and SuperGems, which you can play in multiplayer tournament style - you’ll find that once you start you won’t be able to stop, it’s that addictive!!!

But the one thing that makes Game Village stand out from the crowd, is the extra effort they’ve put in to make their own virtual village community. You’ll need to make 3 deposits to qualify for a special invitation, and then you get your very own house in the bingo village!

All sorts of exciting extra’s come when you reach homeowner status, you can use the map and roam around the streets meeting your new bingo buddy neighbours, hold private house parties, even private bingo games, and much more! A great touch is the changing colour and status of your house, the longer you live in the village you’ll see your house change colour and grow bigger, until eventually if you reach the highest level it’ll turn into a brilliant gold castle!

Mother’s Day

Don’t you just wish it was Mother’s Day every weekend? I love it when we get a special occasion like this which perks up the online bingo world in a flurry of hot bingo promotions and special prize draws - love it!

So where are the hottest places to be this weekend? Well there’s an awful lot to choose from, but thankfully with the pre-purchasing of bingo tickets option now widely available among online bingo UK sites, you can go crazy if you like and play every single online bingo game that’s up for grabs this weekend - without having to miss a single special Mother’s Day jackpot bingo game!

If I had to choose which sites to play bingo at this weekend, I’d go for the following choices:

Wink Bingo - our #1 fave bingo site at Bingostreet have:

  • Fri - Risk Free Bingo game tonight @9.45pm £500 JP
  • Sat - Free bingo games daily at 2pm and 7.30pm
  • Sun - Mega £5,000 Mother’s Day penny bingo game

You can pre-purchase all your tickets for the above online bingo games at Wink Bingo at anytime up until kickoff - dont’ forget!

Another hot fave of late is Sun Bingo, these guys are holding a marathon on Sunday night from 7pm through to 10pm, where each TOTH online bingo game sports a cool jackpot prize of £1000, and the 9pm game has 3x £1000 prizes - pre-buy your tickets now!

Cheeky Bingo - I just love playing the free bingo games here, it’s so easy, no fuss no frills, plain free bingo with cash prizes. OK so if you’re looking to become a bingo billionaire it’ll take a while, but they still have a pretty decent £5,000 bingo jackpot up for grabs (guaranteed) every Friday night - well worth a shot! And I love that you can play free bingo games here anytime you want!

So that’s it folks, my fave bingo sites of the moment, and I’ll be popping into these three over the weekend, might even see you there! Have a great weekend, and happy Mother’s Day!!

Torn between playing bingo at the bingo hall and playing bingo online?

Torn between playing bingo at the bingo hall and playing bingo online? There are many reasons to choose the latter as explained in the following piece.

Optimum Environment

If you're using a desktop computer, online bingo can be accessed from the comfort of your own home. If you're using a laptop computer, you can access online bingo halls from virtually anywhere! By taking advantage of this benefit, one does not need to travel, so more game time is enjoyed. Furthermore, if you are playing online you can save countless dollars that would otherwise be spent on food at the bingo hall! Another benefit is being able to have a familiar menu of snacks from your own fridge makes online bingo playing that much more enjoyable.

Socializing at your Fingertips

Another advantage of playing bingo in the comfort of your own home (or coffee shop, or wherever you happen to be) is that it will be a lot less crowded, noisy, and overbearing than the environment of a traditional bingo hall. You won't have to shout to talk to your friends, and you can listen to your own music whilst effortlessly communicating with thousands of people through the chat features available on most bingo websites.

Instant Gratification

Playing bingo with multiple cards can be difficult for a normal person as the fast pace and unrelenting bingo calls can wear you down. However, while playing bingo online, most websites offer the auto-daub feature, which allows players to purchase and keep track of their card in amounts never before thought possible. The greater amount of cards you purchase increases your odds of winning, and thus one of the greatest parts of bingo is expanded - the winning! The auto-daub feature also leaves one free to chat, removing the awkward silence found in halls during bingo games.

Personality

If playing in a bingo hall, you don't often get a chance to meet anyone, whereas in online bingo, the fun never stops. The online chat hosts keep the chat bouncing and you can play in special chat games for extra cash which give you even more opportunities to win it big! In bingo halls the caller can be monotonous and repetitive. Whereas with online bingo the variety of callers and the company of the chat hosts, you get the chance to thrive in a dynamic environment online.

Convenient Savings for yourself and the Environment

Bingo is a fun and inexpensive way to gamble. However, it's the side costs that add up in the real world. Bingo cards cost money and paper to print, and this is reflected in the cost of cards as well as in the garbage that gets put out the back at most bingo halls. The cost of daubers can add up as well. And don't forget about the precious fuel and time that are consumed on the way to the bingo hall. All of these problems can be easily alleviated by playing online bingo, where the cards are digitally created and disposed of with no more effort than the click of a mouse.

Fast-Paced Action

Online bingo has adapted to suit the pace of the modern world by keeping the games playing with greater alacrity than bingo halls. The auto-daub feature available on most online bingo games makes it easier to keep up with these fun and fast-paced games. This feature helps to eliminate much of the time problems caused by the distribution of real bingo cards, ball drawing, and ball calling. Now you can spend your time watching the numbers fall and chatting with your friends!

Bingo Nights in Modern Times

Ever wanted to host a bingo night/soiree in the comfort of your own home, but never had the resources? Thanks to the convenience of online bingo, every one of your friends with a portable computer can come over, and you could have a network game with just your best friends. Or get everyone to connect to your favorite site at an agreed upon time and you'll all be chatting and playing the night away! Playing at home provides the additional incentive of selecting the music - always an important bingo component.

All in all, the benefits of playing online bingo far outweigh any of the negative attributes. The convenience, ease of play, and overall fun combined with the home-style atmosphere and comforts add up to a fantastic time whether alone or with friends. Online bingo is never a bad choice when you need a fun way to spend your day.

Free Bingo

Everywhere you look today there’s absolutely tons of free bingo games - it’s a glorious place to be right now if you’re a big fan of online bingo, and are partial to a few games of free bingo!
Some days befor for instance, Virgin Bingo were holding penny bingo games all day long - which is virtually free bingo. If you’re feeling the effects of the credit crunch with the rest of us, then free bingo games and penny bingo games are definitely the way forward for internet bingo sites in the UK. And I know that generally online bingo games have become incredibly cheap of late, with 5p and 10p tickets the norm, for some pretty hot cash prizes too, but it does all add up.
So when an opportunity comes along where you can play free bingo all day and all night long, then we jump right in!
Another great online bingo site recently launched is Cheeky Bingo - the great thing about these guys is that they have 3 whole rooms dedicated to nothing but free bingo games. Again, you don’t have to spend a single penny, you can play free bingo til the cows come home plus you get to win cash prizes too.
Not surprisingly, the bingo rooms at Cheeky Bingo are jam-packed full with a very lively crowd of bingo fans, and some people have actually managed to win quite a fair bit just by playing free bingo online!

Exciting Game on Sunday

WINKBINGO.COM LAUNCHES EXCLUSIVE 'PLAY OFF' BETWEEN NORTH AND SOUTH TO WIN A MINI COOPER

Wink Bingo is proud to announce that for the first time ever, two dedicated bingo fans will decide their own fate by choosing their own lucky numbers to take part in an online bingo 'play off' for a chance to speed off in a brand new Mini Cooper.

People will be able to log on to Winkbingo.com at 8:30pm on Sunday 22nd February to watch the North South divide as Joanna Kane from Werneth, Oldham in Lancashire and Christine Tulley from Toot Hill, Swindon in Wiltshire battle it out for a brand new set of wheels.

Joanna, 36 and mum of two, couldn't believe her luck when she was told she was one of the two joint winners out of 8,000 players who took part in Winkbingo.com's Mini Cooper bingo game on New Year's Day. "I've never won anything in my life," gushed Joanna, "luck just doesn't happen to me, but if I play with my lucky numbers 9 and 11 on Sunday, the day I passed my driving test and my kids' birthdays, I may be proven wrong!"

Joanna originally fell in love with Winkbingo.com last October and hasn't looked back. "Winkbingo.com gives me the perfect opportunity to take a break from work, house-hold chores and the kids," says Joanna, "especially since I can play in the comfort of my own living room. Winkbingo.com's chat hosts are really friendly and their individual games are great fun too, I've even made some great new friends."

Christine Tulley, 51, mum of two and grandma of three had been playing for six months - she was often on a winning streak winning a string of small prizes which really spurred her on to keep playing, so much so that she too became an overjoyed winner out of 8,000 players, in the New Years Day Mini Cooper game. I always believed that magic could happen to me at Winkbingo.com, says Christine, "let's just hope the tarot reader who gave me my lucky numbers, 1,7, 8, 17, 35 and 44 really is for real and I may just get to win the Mini Cooper in Sunday's game!"

Christine has been a fan of online bingo ever since she began working at the local bingo hall where she remained for 15 years. "It's expensive to go to bingo halls now though" says Christine, "and why bother when you can stay at home and have even more fun playing bingo online with Winkbingo.com? It's such a fun and friendly site and really easy to use too. I feel secure with Winkbingo.com and love the fact that I can chat so much to other bingo fans too."

Whether choosing to don their heels and coats to play their favourite game in bingo halls or choosing to relax in their pyjamas and slippers to play online, up until now bingo players have been given a card full of numbers and their chance of shouting "full house" has been left entirely to lady luck.

Maurice Karpes, Marketing Director at Winkbingo.com says, "The fact that we are allowing our two lucky players to choose their own numbers and play a part in their own fate makes our exclusive Mini Cooper game so exciting. We've also created a way for friends and family to watch so that they can offer their support, we're sure other bingo fans will be interested too - may the luckiest player win!"

Foxy Bingo and Kristina Rihanoff

The wily Mr Foxy, loveable mascot of popular online bingo site Foxy Bingo, has somehow managed to bag the beautiful Kristina Rihanoff as his partner in his funny dance video to support the Comic Relief charity on Red Nose Day.
Kristina is one of the gorgeous professional dancers featured on Strictly Come Dancing, and the talented lady accepted Foxy’s proposal when he asked her to Do something Funny for Money with him for Red Nose Day.
If you browse to the Foxy Bingo site you’ll see the poor girl is given more than her fair share of the cheeky Foxy antics as she tries to teach him the 70’s disco style dance moves. However all’s fair in love, war and bingo, and they both come out sparkling in the dance video with a great performance.
The aim of the Foxy Bingo Red Nose Day campaign is to raise a massive £150,000 for the Comic Relief charity, who to help disadvantaged people in the UK and also those abroad in Africa.
For the next 6 weeks Foxy Bingo will be holding special bingo games where every £1 you spend on bingo tickets will be matched by the online bingo site and donated to the charity - so keep an eye out for these special bingo games so that you can help Foxy Bingo reach the target.
The special charity bingo campaign culminates in a huge bingo game on March 13, when the jackpot will be an incredible £50,000! Just for one little bingo game - it’s an astounding amount! Be sure to pre-purchase your bingo tickets for this huge event, and remember every £1 you spend will be matched by Foxy for this great cause.
You should also check out the Foxy Dance video at the online bingo site, Foxy Bingo - it’s very funny, and in the end you have to admit that this sly dog of a Fox actually can dance pretty well! Kristina recommends trying out the dance moves at home, says it’s a great way to keep fit!
So that’s at least 3 worthy things accomplished when you play bingo online at Foxy Bingo - help a worthy charity, get fit for the summer, and play bingo too! LOL

William Hill bingo site

William Hill Bingo have made quite a drastic change to their Welcome Bonus for new members of the bingo site. It’s gone from £10 free up to a whopping £25 Free!
Since launching 2 years ago, their first year in the online bingo market was incredibly low profile. But this all changed last summer, when the bingo site went wild with a huge marketing campaign in conjunction with MSN that splashed their banners all over the internet, and even in MSN Messenger too. The William Hill Bingo new players bonus had changed to a massive £20 Free – possibly the biggest bingo bonus available at the time!
Public reaction was massive, I mean you can’t miss when you go all the way with MSN – every which way you looked you saw ‘£20 Free at William Hill Bingo’ - it truly was a successful bingo advertising campaign that placed the bingo site firmly on the map of online bingo UK.
At the end of 2008, the bingo site downgraded the bingo bonus to a more standard £10 Free, I believe this happened at about the same time they changed their affiliate marketing company.
Even more recently the £10 Free bonus became conditional upon a qualifying deposit, bingo fans needing to deposit at least £10 into their bingo accounts to receive £10 Free Cash Match. In our opinion this didn’t do much for their appeal as an online bingo site, especially when other bingo sites were giving out £15 or even £20 Free without requiring a deposit.
Although the intentions were good, obviously negative effects were felt within the bingo site too, paving the way for another drastic change, but a clever one too. Within the last couple of days, William Hill Bingo have again changed their Welcome Bonus, there’s a hint of the old and also a hint of the new, perhaps this will become the best of both worlds for the bingo site: £25 Free if you deposit and play £5 within 24 hours of signup.
The new £25 Free bonus is sure to be a hit. It’s a lot of free bingo money, possibly the biggest freebie for bingo UK players at the moment. So it definitely scores high on the appeal factor. The clever thing is that the conditional £5 deposit and play seems like such a minor issue in comparison, I’m sure more bingo fans will be tempted than not to take William Hill Bingo up on this pretty generous welcome bonus offer – especially now that their bingo site is looking so hot

Choosing Your Bingo Wagers

The following article can be useful for everyone. It's written by Charlene Grey for BingoStreet.com – the top UK resource for bingo online and bringing you the best bingo promotions.

Bingo is not like traditional online gambling. A video poker machine or slot machine has a certain amount you play per line. You also have the poker tables that require a couple of bets during the game. When you play bingo online wagers you have an entrance fee into the game. Once you get into the game you are required to spend a little more to get the bingo cards you will play. Let’s break this down a little further to help you understand how to chose your bingo wagers.
Under the 75 ball bingo section you might find 5p, 50p, and up to £1 in order to gain entrance into a bingo game. These are the bingo wagers you must pay and this is the area you have some control over how much you spend while you play bingo online.
You may already have worked out how much money you want to spend in a month on bingo wagers. This is often figured out based on your income and expenses that you have in your daily life. The bingo wagers are extraneous money you put towards hobbies. In a month you might have £100 left over after all expenses are paid. You decide of that £100 you want to spend £20 a month for online bingo, plus some of the winnings you may earn. For example you might decide to play 20% of any winnings you earn and keep the rest.
If you have £20 to spend and you know you want to play at least 2 games of bingo online each night, then you can’t spend £1 a game, you’d need to wager 50p or less on your bingo games. In fact the 5p game might be more to your liking because you can play more than 62 games of bingo online each month at this rate.
Of course you still have your online bingo cards to purchase. This is different from the money you spend to get in to the game of online bingo. Typically you have a range from £1 to £15, depending on the bingo website to buy 1 bingo card. We will say that a bingo site charges £6 for 6 bingo cards. The entrance fee was 5p and you just spent £6 pounds – you now have less than £14 in your bingo budget for the rest of the month – unless you hit the bingo jackpot!
The amount of money you want to spend will determine the online bingo wagers you make, but more than that you want to choose bingo wagers that will help you get the most out of your bingo budget each month. The lower priced games usually have smaller jackpots, but then again you might have a better chance of winning or at least playing more games of bingo online.

Online Bingo - Playing it Safe!

Bingo sites are everywhere you look, especially in the UK where online bingo has become an increasingly popular pasttime. There are a dazzling array of new online bingo sites popping up all the time, and it can be an aching temptation to try them all out, especially when you consider some of the seemingly outstanding promotions and opening specials so many of them seem to be offering. But the Internet is a wide open and largely unregulated space - so if you’re looking to play bingo online but you haven’t played before, how can you make sure you’ll be safe online?
In this article we’ll be taking a look at a few common sense tactics you can use to protect yourself against unscrupulous websites and unwelcome attacks by hackers.
First of all, unless you’ve got a recommendation from someone you trust impeccably, you should always do some research on a new bingo website you’re thinking of trying out - don’t just blindly go signing up to every one you see. Try googling the website’s name and see what kind of online bingo reviews come up.
Even better, find a website that does online bingo reviews that you can trust - such as bingostreet.com - that has objective reviews of the top bingo online sites out there, and see what they have to say about the site you were looking at. It’s far better to be educated than sorry.
Even if you decide to check out a new bingo online site against better advice, there are a few IT tips and tricks you can use to protect yourself. Firstly, either buy or download a good piece of antivirus software. If you want to do this on the cheap, it’s worth checking out AVG Antivirus, which offers a free version for home users.
This is a good choice because it comes with a plugin for your browser called LinkSafe that checks any links on screen against a database of known scams. If you’re heading into danger, the plugin will let you know.
Another great common sense tip is to make sure that the online bingo website respects the privacy of your personal information by encrypting it during signup. There’s an easy way to see if this is being done – simply have a look at the address being displayed in your browser’s address bar - when you sign up to play bingo online and register your details.
Normally you should see something like: http://your_website_name_here. But if the connection is being properly encrypted, it should instead have an S after the http part, so you’d see something like: https://your_website_name_here.
If you don’t see the ‘s’ then the connection isn’t being encrypted, and your personal information could be exposed to hackers.
Remember, it’s much better to visit bingo online sites you know are safe and that have been recommended to you either by a friend or by an online bingo review site you trust.
